A delicate balance

As I stand at our gate, the majestic male comes gliding, landing with precision in the lush green paddy fields across the road.  His arrival is sure to threaten the survival of the snakes lurking around. My heart goes out to the creepy crawly slithery beings who help the farmer to eradicate rats. I can't help but wonder  at the delicate balance  in this food chain. When humans interfere in this balance, nature retaliates in many ways. Corona or cyclone, how helpless man becomes. And yet he thinks he has power over entire creation.
A cockroach can survive even atomic radiations, but the poor man thinks a HIT spray  will scare it away;  oblivious of the fact that it is his own cells that turn cancerous because of these poisons.
Training our mind to  seek a permanent solution to a temporary problem is the need of the hour. And that comes only when we think about what we think. Unfortunately, in schools, students are trained to think in a particular way directed towards commercial success. When children are left to think freely, the EUREKA moments are sure to occur; Just as it did to  Newton and to all the scientific minds .........
